Folio — Privacy Policy
Who This Covers
This policy applies to Folio, a personal library app for tracking the books you own, want to read and lend, published by Jent Innovations. Other Jent Innovations apps have their own policies.
What We Collect
Jent Innovations does not collect, sell or share your personal information through Folio. The app has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics SDK, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
What Stays on Your Device
- Books you add (title, author, ISBN, your rating, notes and reading status) and who you have lent a book to
- Your preferences
This data is kept in the app's private storage. Deleting the app removes it. It may be included in your own iCloud or computer backups under your device settings.
Permissions
Folio may ask for the following. Each is optional and you can change it in iOS Settings at any time.
- Camera (optional): used only when you choose to scan a book barcode. Images are analyzed on your device and are never saved or sent.
Network Use
When you search for a book by title or ISBN, Folio sends that search text to the public Open Library service (openlibrary.org) and loads cover images from covers.openlibrary.org to fetch book details. Open Library receives your IP address and the search text under its own privacy policy. We do not operate a server and do not receive any of this.
Purchases
Folio has no purchases, payments or advertising.
Sharing and Export
Folio has no sharing features.
Your Choices
You can delete any data inside the app, revoke permissions in iOS Settings, or delete the app to remove all of its local data. Because we hold no data about you, we cannot look up, export or delete anything on our side.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
